Nothing seems to be sacred anymore for criminals as a shoot-out ensued on Monday when six armed men attempted to break into the Hatfield Chrisitan Church in Raslouw, Centurion Concerned Citizens said.
According to the spokesman of Centurion Concerned Citizens, Hannes Du Buiss, six armed men fired shots at the security guards when they were discovered while attempting to break into the church.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
“Two shots were fired at the security guards who returned fire and the six men fled in an unidentified vehicle.”
Du Buiss said a case of attempted murder was opened at the Wierdabrug police station following the incident.
Efforts to solicit comment from the Wierdabrug police station proved futile at the time of going to print.
