Tshwane metro police department’s (TMPD) special projects unit have conducted another successful drug raid in Centurion on Monday afternoon. This was the second successful drug bust in a week.
Acting on an anonymous tip-off, drug unit officers raided a house close to the Lyttelton police station.
According to one of the officers, they acted swiftly and raided the house at 16:00 – arresting three Nigerian suspects, all of whom were legally living in South Africa after they had been granted asylum. In total, illegal drugs to the value of R220 000 and R5 460 in cash were seized.
The drugs that were confiscated included Cat, ecstasy, LSD, DMA, crystal meth, dagga, nyaope and heroin.
On Friday 2 January the special projects unit arrested eight suspects, some for selling and others for attempting to buy drugs in various parts of Centurion, including Valhalla and Zwartkop.
