A video of a family being robbed and held at gunpoint at their home by would-be hijackers in Midrand has gone viral.
The video recorded by a CCTV camera on Monday shows the family of three pulling in their Audi into a driveway of what appears to be a security complex.
The family stops at the boom gate around 20:18 and within seconds the would-be hijackers appears behind them. Two armed men then jump out and force the family out of the vehicle.
The driver, his wife and son exits their vehicle and one of the robbers carry what appears to be luggage from the boot to their getaway vehicle.
Neither the family nor the police could be reached for comment immediately.
