Man hijacked in front of house
Two hijackers are on the run after they shot and lightly wounded a man in front of his house in Wierda Park.
A man in his 30s had to be rushed to the Unitas hospital on Saturday night after he was hijacked in front of his house in Wierda Ppark.
According to Braam Kruger, spokesperson for Emer-G-Med ambulance services, the victim was in his home when paramedics arrived at the scene.
He said the man had minor injuries to his head due to shrapnel from a shot that one of the hijackers had fired.
“He was taken to the hospital for treatment but had no serious injuries,” Kruger said.
Cecil Swart, owner of Orange Fox Security Solutions, said two men had hijacked the victim and fled the scene before firing one shot that only slightly injured the man.
The hijackers had fled the scene in the victim’s City Golf. No arrests have been made.
The police were unavailable for comment.
