Hijackers still at large

Two alleged hijackers are still at large after they hijacked and injured a man in front of his house in Wierda Park. The man, who was in his thirties, had to be rushed to Unitas hospital on Saturday night after he was hijacked.

According to Braam Kruger, spokesperson for Emer-G-Med ambulance services, the victim was in his home when paramedics arrived at the scene. He said the man had minor injuries to his head due to shrapnel from a shot that one of the hijackers had fired. “He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but had no serious injuries,” Kruger said.

Cecil Swart, owner of Orange Fox Security Solutions, said two men hijacked the victim and fled the scene before firing one shot that only slightly injured the man. The hijackers fled the scene in the victim’s City Golf. No arrests have been made yet, but police are investigating.
