Man (83) attacked for R100 and wristwatch
An elderly man was attacked and assaulted in his home on Saturday,
An 83-year-old man was left with a minor head injury, following an attack by a robber in his Mayville home on Saturday night.
The robber stole R100 cash, a cellphone and wristwatch.
Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the unarmed robber gained access to the man’s house through an open kitchen door at around 22:30. “The robber overpowered the man in his kitchen and assaulted him with a small object.”
The robber fled before police arrived at the Louis Trichardt Street home where the 83-year-old man lives on his own.
Shortly after the elderly man had received treatment for his head injury at Montana hospital he was discharged.
