Go big or go home for Bafana
Bafana face Ghana in a do-or-die clash in Estadio de Mongomo on Wednesday. A win for Bafana will see them through if Senegal beat Algeria in another match.

South Africa is on a verge of being knocked out of the African Cup of Nations as they lie at the bottom with one point from two games in group C. Bafana will need to win their final group match against Ghana in Estadio de Mongomo on Wednesday and hope Senegal win their game against Algeria in order for them to qualify for the next round.
Shakes Mashaba’s side started the tournament on a losing note, going 3-1 down against Algeria. Their last game ended in a 1-1 draw with Senegal. Ghana on the other hand will also be looking for a win but a draw might suit them if Algeria fails to beat Senegal, so they won’t really go for an all-out attack.
Bafana will be without their key defender Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatswayo in their final game but they will be handed a big boost when defender Rivaldo Coetzee joins the team after missing the last game due to injury.
Permutations:
– If Bafana Bafana lose or draw against Ghana, they will be knocked out.
– If Algeria draw against Senegal and Bafana win, both sides will be left on four points but Algeria will progress, along with Senegal, due to their superior head to head record with South Africa.
– If Algeria beat Senegal and Bafana beat Ghana, then it will come down to goal difference to separate Bafana and Senegal.
