SA Top Models 2015 announced
Free State woman and Pretoria man won South Africa Top Model 2015 in the SA finals of the competition at Brooklyn Mall on Saturday.
Top Model South Africa 2015 winners were announced at a glamorous finale at Brooklyn Mall on Saturday. The winners of this year’s competition were Clarise Jacobs and Tertius van Heerden.
Jacobs, who comes from Free State, took first prize in the female category, contested by a total of 20 models.
Pretorian Van Heerden was selected from a total of 10 contestants in the male category.
The event has been growing each year and was attended by more than 600 people on Saturay night. Local designer Gerrit Pienaar of Black Tie said the show had improved a lot compared to last year. “The quality of contestants has improved a lot…I hope it will grow more,” Pienaar said.
Top Model South Africa director Suzette Marais also confirmed the show was growing every year.
There were 30 contestants in the final show – 20 in the female category and 10 in the male category. The selection started April last year with more than 130 contestants from all over the country.
Jacobs will now compete in Top Model Worldwide in London on 8 March and Van Heerden will be a contestant in the top 50 Mr. South Africa next year.
