Stolen car recovered in Booysens

Police recovered a stolen vehicle in Booysens even before the theft was reported.

Hercules police saved the day when a stolen car was recovered even before the theft was reported.

Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the police received a tip-off on Wednesday about a vehicle parked at a house in Booysens. It was covered with a white cloth.

“Warrant officer Harold Zinserling and Sergeant Christo von Mollendorf went to the house and investigated. They ascertained that the car had not been reported stolen.”

The two officers returned to the police station and managed to track down the owner of the vehicle.

“The woman told us that her white Toyota Tazz vehicle was stolen the night before in Pretoria North. The officers went back to the house and found the vehicle still parked there,” said Msimango.

The owner of the house was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and the car was returned to its rightful owner.
