Man killed at restaurant
A man was shot and killed at the Coco Bistro Restaurant in what looks like an assassination.
A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening at a restaurant in the south-eastern suburb of Erasmuskloof.
Captain Colette Weilbach, police spokesperson, said two men were sitting at Coco Bistro Restaurant table in Castle Walk Centre when an unknown armed man approached their table at around 19:30.
“The man fired a shot at one of the men at the table and immediately fled the scene,” Weilbach said. She said the shot man died in the restaurant.
Lisa Buys, an eyewitness, said she and a friend were having coffee at the restaurant when she suddenly heard an extremely loud noise.
“The loud noise was followed by gunshots. Everyone in the restaurant fell to the floor. My friend and I jumped up from our table and ran to the kitchen for safety, ” she said.
Buys said soon after the hysteria had died down police arrived at the scene.
Weilbach said police were still busy processing information to establish the identity of the dead man and the possible motive behind the attack. Brooklyn police are investigating a case of murder.
No arrest has been made.
