Police are still searching for an allegedly kidnapped 4-year-old boy, Katlego Mnisi from Gomorrah informal settlement.
A case of kidnapping has been opened at the Hercules Police station after Mnisi (4) left home with his stepfather’s friend who never returned him back home.
Hercules police spokesperson, Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said they are appealing to the community to help find the 4-year-old.
Mnisi lives at Gomorrah informal settlement with his mother and stepfather and last Wednesday he left with his stepfather’s friend Penny-Penny.
“Katlego was apparently last seen with Penny-Penny at Shoprite at the Bougainville Centre. He left with this man to go to Belle Ombre train station,” Msimango said.
He said it is not clear what Penny-Penny and the 4-year-old were going to do at the train station, but since the two have disappeared.
Msimango mentioned that Penny-Penny is a vagrant and sleeps in the bushes and underneath bridges in the surrounding areas of Hercules.
“It is hard to trace Penny-Penny down because he does not have a cellphone. The stepfather of the child is the one who opened the case and we are trying to assist in finding the child,” said Msimango.
Msimango said the police are pleading with the community to help them find the missing boy so he can be returned safely to his parents.
