Poor service delivery by Tshwane metro
A Moreleta Park resident is upset with Tshwane metro's poor service delivery regarding water problems at his home.
A new home owner in Moreleta Park is fed up with the poor service delivery of Tshwane metro regarding a leaking water meter and general administration.
Riaan Nortje moved into his new home at the end of January, just to discover his water meter was leaking and the water pressure in his home was terrible due to this problem.
“I have reported the problem to Tshwane metro, as well as several ward councillors in and around the area, but to date, nothing has been done to repair the leak,” Nortje said.
“I have also been struggling with the basic admin of getting everything on my name at the Tshwane metro offices in Centurion. I cannot believe how slow the service is.”
Rekord reported earlier about several areas in Moreleta Park and Elardus Park that had been struggling with leaking water pipes since January.
In a recent media statement by DA Councillor Bruce Lee, he highlighted Tshwane’s lack of adequate resources. “The water infrastructure maintenance store in Region 2 is run by a single lady with no computer or network access. Everything is recorded by hand and if a job requires spare parts, she has to physically hold them in her hand to reserve them,” Lee writes.
“The department of water has been pleading for the past two years with the Tshwane’s IT department to install computer equipment and provide network access, but this is met with silly responses like there are currently no IT tenders issued. This is the reason why a burst water pipe can sometimes take days before it is repaired.”
Tshwane metro was not available for comment about the water leak.
