BREAKING NEWS: Another cellular shop robbed
Another cellular shop in a well-known shopping mall had been targeted by five armed men on Wednesday morning.
Five armed men robbed another cellular store in Wonderpark shopping centre of an undisclosed amount of cellphones Wednesday morning.
Elzette Schuster, spokesperson for Wonderpark shopping centre, confirmed the robbery.
She said five armed men walked into Auto Page Cellular at 11:00 and robbed the store. “Staff members were ushered to the back of the shop and the men forced open the safe. The robbers left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cellphones,” she said.
Schuster said no shots were fired and the robbery will be investigated.
The police could not yet provide comment on the incident.
Rekord recently reported about a major police bust following a spate of mall robberies across Gauteng and other parts of the country.
No fewer than 32 people linked to 34 mall robberies across South Africa have been arrested in an on-going investigation.
According to national police spokesperson Lt Gen Solomon Makgale, due to the spate of mall robberies a multi-agency task team had been established to investigate and ‘urgently neutralise this matter’.
He said the war against mall robberies is not over.
