Banned Nando’s ad resurfaces

Remember this controversial anti-xenophobic Nando's advert?

With the recent xenophobic attacks in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, an old Nando’s advert resurfaced after being banned from television.

The controversial advert from 2012 was banned by the SABC, DSTV, M-Net and e-tv, as they believed it had xenophobic connotations.

Nando’s, however, said the advert was part of an anti-xenophobic campaign.

“Nando’s #Diversity campaign forces South Africans to question xenophobia and intolerance. The fact is, if we go back far enough in time, we were all once foreigners in SA,” the chicken franchise outlet said of their video on their YouTube channel.
