Ex kills woman in east

Domestic dispute ended in tragedy.

A woman was shot dead by her ex-fiancé in the east of Pretoria on Wednesday morning.

The 33-year-old administrative clerk at Cura Health Insurance in Rubenstein Drive was about an hour into her workday when she was killed.

She was shot three times by the man she apparently kicked out of their apartment two weeks ago after he allegedly started to abuse her.

She was declared dead when paramedics arrived and people were crying when Rekord arrived on the scene.

An eyewitness said the man arrived at the office on a motorcycle around 09:00.

He apparently asked for her at reception and when she walked down the staircase, he pulled out a firearm and fired two or three shots.

“We were too shocked to do anything,” the eyewitness said.

The man fled on a green scrambler motorcycle.

The name of the victim is known to Rekord but she could not be identified before her next of kin has been notified.

Garsfontein police spokesperson Dave Miller said the police were on the lookout for the killer.
