Attackers at McDonald’s still sought
No one arrested after assault at McDonald’s drive-through.
Police were on Monday still searching for the attackers of a Centurion man who was assaulted at a fast-food restaurant drive-through.
This happened to Vuyolethu Tabu (23) recently, in the early hours of the morning at the McDonald’s on the corner of Hendrik Verwoerd Drive and Heuwel Road, close to Centurion mall.
A driver of a car in front of Tabu mistook his hooting to friends as a provocation, pulled Tabu out of his car and viciously assaulted him.
McDonald’s SA has confirmed the altercation.
Corporate affairs director Sechaba Motsieloa said: “We are aware of the incident that took place in our Centurion restaurant. Our staff assisted the customer by calling the police who arrived on the scene. McDonald’s will assist the police in their investigations in every way possible.”
Tabu had since said he was at home and recovering well.
He laid a complaint of assault at the Lyttelton police station. Anyone with information about the assault could phone Lyttelton police on 012-644-8600.
