Pistorius could be out in August
Culpable homicide convict, Oscar Pistorius, could be released in August.
Convicted paralympian Oscar Pistorius could be serving his last three months in prison as he is hoping to be released in August.
According to reports, the culpable homicide convict wants to work with children upon his release.
Pistorius’ lawyer, Rohan Kruger, told UK media that once the athlete was released, he would be on parole for 10 months and would undergo an anger management course.
Kruger said Pistorius would like to guide and mentor the youth.
“He is keen to become involved in assisting children in whatever opportunity comes up.”
The athlete, who shot dead his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013, is still coming to terms with what happened, Kruger said.
He said Pistorius was spending most of his time reading the Bible and praying in his cell.
He is serving his five year sentence at the hospital wing of the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in Pretoria after he was found guilty of culpable homicide in September.
The State has been granted leave to appeal against the judgment in its quest to get a murder conviction against Pistorius.
A date is yet to be set for the Supreme Court of Appeal hearing.
