Woman raped 4 times while her child watched
A young woman was raped four times while her child looked on.
A 22-year-old woman from Soshanguve Block W was raped on Wednesday evening.
Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the woman was carrying her child on her back and was on her way to visit her boyfriend when the incident happened.
“The woman was walking to her boyfriend’s house at around 20:30 when she was approached by an unknown man. The man pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her, after realising she was carrying a child, he said he would not kill her and ordered her to go with him into the veld,” he said.
The woman tried to escape but was stopped by the man who then raped her.
“As they were in the middle of bushes, the woman tried to run but the man tripped her and the child fell. While she was picking the child up, the suspect pushed her down and raped her without a condom,” said Mangena.
He said the victim was raped four times within an hour before the man got away; she then took her child to the nearest house where she was helped and taken to the police.
A case of rape was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
