Man stabbed with knife
Man stabbed in back for R50 000 and another arrested for drug dealing in the north of Pretoria.
A man was stabbed in the back by three armed men in a robbery in Eeufees Road in Pretoria North on Monday.
Pretoria North police spokesperson Lieutenant Rebecca Phatlane said on Tuesday the four were apparently travelling in the same vehicle before the crime took place.
She said an eyewitness saw three men pushing another man from a vehicle in Eeufees Road.
“One of the armed men stabbed the victim in the back before robbing him of R50 000. The three men fled in an unknown vehicle.”
She said the three men, including the victim, were apparently driving from the Wonder Park area to Eeufees Road.
The victim was stabbed in the back and thrown from the vehicle.
Werner van Rooyen, spokesperson for Advanced Paramedic Assist (APA), said paramedics treated the man on the scene before taking him to Dr George Mukhari hospital in Ga-Rankuwa for medical assistance.
In another crime in the north of Pretoria, the Sinoville police arrested a man for dealing with drugs.
Spokesperson Mirna von Benecke said a 34-year-old man was arrested on Monday in the Montana area after police found dagga to the value of R1 000 in his possession.
She said street sellers presented a huge problem in the area as they also peddle their drugs to school children.
“Street sellers do not hold their merchandise with them, but somewhere else. It is usually very difficult to arrest them because police do not find the merchandise in their possession.”
She congratulated the officers responsible for the arrest of the 34-year-old drug dealer.
