NATIONAL NEWS: Christopher Panayiotou in court today

Christopher Panayiotou is in court today, standing trial for the murder of his wife, Jayde Panayiotou in April.

The husband of murdered school teacher, Jayde Panayiotou, will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 14 May 2015.

It has been reported that he will apply for bail but the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Velekhaya Mgobhozi, said the NPA will be opposing the bail application.

The Democratic Alliance Women’s Network representatives are said to be in court as well as representatives of AfriForum. Both groups were present at his initial appearance and protested.

Panayiotou’s family is also in attendance.
