Three arrested in crime prevention patrol
A woman and two other men were arrested during a crime prevention in Atteridgeville and Hercules in two separate incidents.

Three people were arrested for possession of illegal firearms in Atteridgeville and Hercules on Monday night during crime prevention and routine patrols, police said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said one of the three was a 40-year-old woman. The woman was arrested in Hercules after she attacked her former boyfriend.
“Police responded to a complaint of attempted murder on a smallholding and upon arrival at the scene, a man, who was the complainant, approached the police and handed a firearm to them. He alleged he was confronted by his former girlfriend who pulled out a firearm from her handbag and fired a shot towards him, following an argument,” he said.
“She missed him and after that, the complainant managed to grab the firearm from her. Police arrested the woman at the scene.”
Dlamini said the woman would be charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and attempted murder when she appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Two other men were arrested in Atteridgeville in a separate crime.
“Late on Monday evening, police on routine patrols stopped a suspicious Toyota Quantum with two men and searched it. Inside the vehicle, a pistol with 20 rounds of ammunition was found hidden in the bag and the two men were arrested,” Dlamini said.
All firearms would be sent for ballistic examination as they might have been involved in serious and violent crimes.
