Brooklyn accident leaves one dead
A man lost his life following an accident in Brooklyn.
A man lost his life and two people were injured in an accident on Thursday night on Justice Mahomed Street in Brooklyn, Netcare 911 said on Friday.
Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said paramedics received a call for assistance just after 23:30 and upon arrival at the scene found a light delivery vehicle and motor vehicle were involved in the accident.
“The light delivery vehicle left the road and crashed against a tree, while the motor vehicle overturned and came to a standstill on its roof. Upon assessment of all the occupants, paramedics found the man travelling in the light delivery vehicle lost his life in the crash, while the two occupants of the motor vehicle sustained moderate to serious injuries.”
“The two injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital. The deceased man was entrapped in his vehicle and the fire department had to make use of the Jaws of Life to extricate his body from the vehicle,” Steinmann said.
Exact details surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events would be the subject of a police investigation.
