Police launch manhunt for Midrand teen’s killers
Police have launched a manhunt for for Ipeleng Moholane's killers after the Midrand teenager was found dead in a park on Monday.
A manhunt has been launched for the killer of a Midrand student found dead on Monday after she went missing ten days ago.
Ipeleng Moholane (19) was last seen in Pretoria when she was boarding a taxi home to Midrand.
Moholane was found-half naked on Kruger Road in President Park, Midrand, around 15:00 on Monday after police were alerted, police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.
He said the Midrand Graduate Institute student appeared to have been raped and strangled.
Her father Isaac Moholane called in on a radio breakfast show on Tuesday morning to share the bad news.
“We found her yesterday [Monday] afternoon and I think the killers killed her in the morning or just the day before,” he said on radio.
Dlamini said the time and cause of death was currently unknown.
“A post mortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death as well as the date in which she was killed. No suspects were identified.”
