Man shot dead in his car
A murdered man in his 40's was found by police in Soshanguve on Sunday after allegedly being assaulted and shot by three men.
A man was assaulted and shot dead in the early hours of Sunday in Soshanguve Block FF, police said on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said three armed men allegedly assaulted and killed a man in his car while he was giving a woman a lift on Sunday.
“Police got a call from the complainant at around 01:20, telling them that a man was shot. When they got to the scene, they found a body of a middle-aged man,” Mangena said.
“The complainant said she asked for a lift from the deceased and as she got into the car, three unknown men came at them, armed with guns. The suspects told the deceased to get out of the car and as he was getting out, the suspects began attacking him and told the complainant to get lost. As the complainant was calling for help, she heard one gunshot and a man screaming,” said Mangena.
Mangena said the man died from gunshot wounds in his upper body. The motive of the killing was unknown. A case of murder was opened at the Soshanguve police station.
