Car thief arrested in Centurion
Patrollers and security apprehended a man for possession of car theft equipment.
A car thief was apprehended on Friday night after patrollers received a call of a tracker being possibly removed from a VW Polo in Hennopspark.
Centurion Concerned Citizen’s (CCC) Hannes du Buisson said this happened on Pine Avenue when patrollers responded to the call within minutes.
He said the VW Polo was seen speeding from the scene.
“Our patrollers followed the vehicle but lost it towards the Centurion CBD, as they were skipping traffic lights.”
He said security company Monitor Net spotted the car and managed to pull it over on the corner of John Vorster Drive and Heuwel Road.
One man was apprehended.
Upon searching the car, false number plates and vehicle theft equipment were found, hesaid.
Du Buisson said: “Well done to the CCC responders and Monitor Net for your quick response and the successful arrest.”
