Two arrested for possession of dagga worth R30 000

A man and a woman were arrested in Soshanguve when they were found in possession of dagga worth R30 000.

Two people have been arrested when they were found in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of R30 000 on Thursday in Soshanguve, police said on Friday.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said two alleged drug dealers were arrested in Block P, Soshanguve after they were caught in possession of nyaope, ‘rock’ and dagga.

“Police received a tip-off about a certain house where drug dealers go to in Block P. The Soshanguve K9 Unit, together with the Benoni K9s and Ga Rankuwa intelligence team went to the house and upon arrival, they found a man and a woman inside. As they started searching the house, they discovered nyaope worth R2 400, ‘rock’ worth R800 and dagga worth R30 000. They were both arrested and taken to the Soshanguve police station,” he said.

Mangena said investigations are still ongoing and they were still trying to find the supplier.
