Two major drug busts have been made in Centurion by the special projects team of the Tshwane metro police (TMPD).
TMPD spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said the bust was made on Tuesday morning.
“The TMPD arrested four individuals, three Nigerians and one South African, in Sylvie Street in The Reeds as well as in Highveld,” Mahamba said.
He said dagga and CAT, estimated to be worth R15 200, were recovered in the two raids.
According to a reliable source, the total weight of the dagga was 432.7 grams. It was packaged in 39 small ziplock bags and had a total street value of R9 200.
The CAT was packaged in 28 ziplock bags and had a street value of R5 600, all found during the raid in The Reeds.
Dagga worth about R400 was found with the man arrested in Highveld. Cash of R1 900 was also seized.
The four men were all arrested and charged with dealing and possession of drugs at the Wierdabrug and Lyttelton police stations.
Mahamba said: “We are committed in fighting this crime in Tshwane and will make sure that those involved face the consequences. We will continue to visit schools and educate the kids about the danger of drugs.”

The TMPD has made several drug busts in Centurion since December 2014. On 18 December, five dealers were arrested and R4 490 in drugs was seized.
On 3 January, six suspects were arrested and drugs of about R10 000 were seized in operations in Valhalla and Zwartkop. On 6 January, three Nigerians were arrested and R220 000 in drugs recovered during a raid in Lyttelton.
