Soshanguve school robbed
Simpato Junior Secondary School was robbed in the early hours of Saturday.

A school in Soshanguve was robbed in the early hours of Saturday when nine men tied up a security guard and stole items worth more than R120 000.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said 40 iPads worth R120 000 were stolen from Simpato Junior Secondary School on Saturday in Blog HH, Soshanguve.
“A security guard was on duty patrolling the school at around 01:15 when a man approached him and pulled out a gun. The suspect ordered the guard to take him to one of the classrooms and as he did, eight more suspects appeared and tied him up with shoelaces,” he said.
“After tying up the guard, the nine suspects went to the deputy principal’s office to fetch storeroom keys. From the storeroom they took 40 iPads, an amplifier, computers, flat-screen TVs, food and R1 300 in cash.”
Mangena said the robbers fled on foot and the security guard was found, still tied, by another guard in the morning when he arrived for his shift.
