NATIONAL NEWS: One killed, 14 injured during horrific taxi accident
One person was killed and several more injured during an accident involving a bus and a taxi.
A passenger was killed and 14 others injured when a taxi and a bus collided on Hendrik Potgieter Road and Gordon Road in Johannesburg on Monday evening.
ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said all the injured were from the taxi.
“Two people sustained critical injuries in the accident and one of these patients was airlifted to hospital,” Rossouw said.
“At least 12 other patients sustained moderate to serious injuries and five patients were treated and transported by ER24 to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.”
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear, said Rossouw.
A video of the crash later surfaced on Facebook.
