Comedy show for cancer survivers

Cancer.vive is hosting a comedy show for cancer awareness.

Cancer.vive, a special awareness and educational project of the umbrella organisation People Living with Cancer, is hosting a comedy night to celebrate life on Tuesday 7 July at Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria.

This two-hour show has a stellar line-up of no less than seven comedians, including: cancer survivor Craig Caldwell, Sean Stevens, Karmen Naidoo, Luana Louw, Zola Xaluva, Teboho Theoha and Zakhele Zicco Sithole.

Mathys Roets and CH2 will also entertain with their music. The show even has a few surprises in store.

Today, cancer in South Africa and worldwide has reached epidemic proportions with more people dying from cancer than HIV, TB and malaria combined.

In South Africa specifically there are multiple cultural taboos, lack of knowledge and access to information and thus the disease often goes undetected or untreated because of stigmas attached to having the disease.

The key objectives of the project are to educate, share information, address myths, allay fears and spread the all-important message: early detection saves lives.

Driven by passionate survivors, this colourful campaign has been hailed internationally as one of the most dynamic of its kind.

Tickets cost R150 per person and are available from Computicket. Please book your tickets today, your support will make a difference in people’s lives.
