NATIONAL NEWS: Man (60) brain dead after alleged assault

Krugersdorp News reports a young man assaulted another man in Krugersdorp West, leaving him brain dead.

Police are investigating a murder case after a 60-year-old man was declared brain dead following an alleged assault in Krugersdorp over the weekend.

According to Krugersdorp News, the man was assaulted by a young man in front of his wife and grandchildren. The young man the sped off in his vehicle.

The man was taken to the Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with serious head injuries.

One of his family members says that medical staff could not do anything more for him and that the machines were switched of since he was declared brain dead by doctors.
