Three men earlier robbed a house in Gerhardsville where they held a 42-years-old man at gunpoint, tying him and his wife up with a cable.
“The suspects demanded money from the man and searched his house. They took jewellery, a plasma television set, a DVD player and a firearm. They fled in the owner’s double-cab Isuzu bakkie.”
Moloto said the police followed up some leads with a help of tracker signal. This led them to Atteridgeville where they found the stolen bakkie abandoned.
“The signal showed the stolen bakkie made a stop at Phatudi Street before it was abandoned. Police rushed to the address and found two suspects in possession of the items taken in the house robbery.”
Moloto said the third man was still at large. The possibility would be investigated that the arrested men were also involved in other crimes in the area.
