Metro officers killed in crash
Two Tshwane metro officers were killed their vehicle collided with a cow on Friday night. Other vehicles were also involved in the accident.
Two Tshwane metro police officers were killed and another one injured on Friday night when their vehicle struck a cow on the N1.
Metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said three other vehicles were also involved in the accident at the Murrayhill off-ramp around 22:00.
“Two of the officers died on scene and the third was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. He was later discharged but will undergo counselling.”
Mahamba said the other motorists suffered minor injuries and were treated on the scene. He said an investigation would be launched into how the accident occurred.
“The department would like to use this opportunity to extend its deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues.”
