Man critical after stabbing

A Laudium man is in a critical condition after he was stabbed in the upper body on Saturday night.

A 24-year-old man was stabbed and seriously wounded in the Laudium area on Saturday night
Netcare911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said he was found near a clinic in Jewel Street with a stab wound to his upper body. Paramedics took him in a critical condition to a nearby hospital.
She said this happened just before 20:00.

“It is unclear what type of item was used in the stabbing.”

The motive for the attack was not immediately known, Steinmann said.

The police could not yet provide details on the matter.
Police spokesperson Tumisang Moloto confirmed that an assault incident had been reported but could not provide more detail.
