Three Nigerians were recently caught with the drug CAT in their possession in Pretoria West, police said.

Spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said the drugs had an estimated street value of R150 000. The men were arrested in the early hours of Friday.

“Pretoria West patrol members together with the K9 unit received information about people selling drugs. They followed this up by 06:15, which led them to a house in Begvilla Street,” he said.

“Police found three Nigerian men busy packaging 92 packets of CAT. Two large packets containing CAT rocks. A scale and packaging materials were also seized.”

The drugs hidden inside a heater were sniffed out by a police dog.

The three men, aged between 27 and 41, were detained at the Pretoria West police station.
