A man was shot and wounded in a house robbery in Atteridgeville, police said last week.

Police spokesperson Captain Thomas Mufamadi said two armed men broke into a house on Thursday evening and shot the man before stealing a few items.

“The complainant said two men came to their plot around 20h50 and told them to open the door. When they refused, the two men broke down the door and started searching the room,” said Mufamadi.

“One man was shot in the abdomen during the process. The suspect stole R6 600 in cash and two cellphones before fleeing the scene.”

Mufamadi said the victim was recovering in hospital.

The Atteridgeville police station had opened a house robbery and attempted murder docket and were investigating.
