Police deploy close to Centurion mall
Police have deployed following a tip-off about a possible bank robbery at Centurion mall.
Police have deployed close to the Centurion mall this morning, following a tip-off about a possible bank robbery. According to Warrant Officer Hero Gumbu, police were at the mall investigation the tip off.
“We are not yet sure what is happening. We are at the mall trying to figure out the tip-off,” he said.
Anna Moremela, Centurion mall media officer, said apparently the Standard Bank branch across the mall had been robbed. She said there had been “a high police presence around the Standard Bank branch across the mall”.
Earlier concerned residents took to Facebook, warning people to keep away from the area. A chopper was also spotted.
Police are still at the mall investigating.
