A group of men were arrested on Tuesday afternoon after they allegedly robbed a group of children at a park in Amandasig, north of Pretoria.
According to operations manager for the Amandasig Action Group, Police Sector 2, Erich Landsberg the children immediately went to open a case at the Sinoville police station which helped with the swift arrest of the men.
“The children positively identified the men as the people who robbed them off their belongings,” he said.
It is alleged that the men also robbed another child on the corner of Willem Cruywagen and Berg Avenue of his cell phone. The child also went to open a case eat the Pretoria North police station.
The public searched for the men who were driving a black Corsa Bakkie. It is suspected that the men apparently stole the bakkie they were driving in.
“The men were later on Tuesday caught in Wonderboom by the police. Thanks to the police and other members for their hard work,” Landsberg said.
According to an eyewitness she was drove past the scene and saw men handcuffed on the side of the road.
Police were unable to confirm the information before print.
