Three people have been arrested for possession of stolen property during a safety journey campaign in Erasmia on Thursday.

Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said while police conducting the safety journey campaign three people were arrested in the process.

“Stakeholders such as Icasa, Prasa, Tshwane metro police, security industries and others conducted a road block around Erasmia. They visited scrap yards to check compliance with the Second Hands Goods Act and liquor board. During the roadblock at R55 near M26, a 34-year-old suspect was arrested by police when he was found in possession of a metro police hand radio. Two other suspects were arrested for possession of dagga and selling liquor without a license,” he said.

A case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened at Erasmia police station and investigations are continuing.
