Police are looking for Mandla Sydney Kgagara (24). A man wanted for robbery, rape and housebreaking charges. Kgagara, who also goes by the alias Spikiri, is alleged to be from Mamelodi.
Captain Philip Heyndenrych from the Lyttelton police said on Tuesday, Kgagara had left traces of his identity at a house he robbed early last year. This helped the police to make a breakthrough in identifying him. A bank statement and bank card were found at the scene where he broke into. Police found traces of DNA confirming Kgagara’s identity.
“Police are still investigating the case and we are confident we will catch the suspect,” said Heyndenrych. Police are still investigating Kgagara’s whereabouts, as his identity was later identified by fellow arrested and prosecuted robbery accomplice Thabang Masemola. Masemola was found guilty for robbery and aggravated circumstances and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was also found guilty on a rape charge at the Pretoria Regional Court, increasing his sentence to 18 years.”
Police said Kgagara is extremely dangerous and the public must under no circumstances try to apprehend him. Anyone with information should report his whereabouts to Captain Philip Heyndenrych on 072-480-2339 or contact Detective Constable Kubuyi on 082-047-4217 or phone 10111.
