Two men robbed a business in Hercules in the early hours of Tuesday.

Spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said this happened around 02:00 on the corner of Hendrik and Moot streets.

Two armed men entered the premises of the business which distributes sand.

The intruders stole 13 truck batteries, Selepe said.

“The complainant, who is a security guard at the business, said two suspects pointed a firearm at him before they tied his hands. They then stole 13 truck batteries valued at R98 000 before fleeing the scene,” she said.

Selepe said the security guard was found in the morning by his colleagues arriving for work.

“He was not injured.”
