Parts of Pretoria without water
Hot weather increases water demand resulting in the reservoirs across the metro operating at very low levels
Thabang Kuaho
Parts of Pretoria are experiencing water shortages as a result of the hot weather, the metro says.
Tshwane metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba says the higher demand for water, as a result of the heatwave has brought down the water levels in reservoirs.
Bokaba says because speed at which water fills up in the reservoirs, is slow, some areas of the metro experience low water pressure.
“Residents are urged to use water sparingly and not water gardens until water supply is back to normal.
“It is important residents heed this request,” he says.
Affected areas include Bakenkop tower zone, Constantia Park, Erasmusrand and Waterkloof Ridge.
