Pretoria east water restrictions lifted

Water restrictions in parts of the east were lifted on Tuesday afternoon.

Water restrictions in parts of Pretoria east were lifted with immediate effect on Tuesday afternoon, the Tshwane metro said.

Restrictions came into effect last Friday after Pretoria experienced water shortages due to high demand caused by the current heatwave.

Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said two reservoirs in the east of Pretoria were filling at a slower pace than demand.

“The management of the water and sanitation department has been regularly monitoring the situation and is pleased to announce today [Tuesday] that the affected reservoirs are now operating at full capacity and the situation is back to normal – hence the decision to lift the restrictions with immediate effect.”

The affected areas include:

• Constantia Park

• Waterkloof Heights

• Waterkloof Park

• Erasmuskloof

• Waterkloof Glen

• Erasmusrand

• Parts of Moreletapark

• Eldoraigne extension 1 and extension 3

• Elarduspark

• Kameeldrift/Derdepoort

• Waterkloof Ridge
