5FM’s Carmen Reddy shot in hold up
Reddy was celebrating Diwali with fellow radio personalities Vic Naidoo and Aurelie Kalenga.
Last night, Vic Naidoo (5FM), Carmen Reddy (5FM News Reader and eNCA news anchor) and Aurelie Kalenga (Highveld Stereo) were held up at Reddy’s home in Centurion, the Citizen reports.
The three were celebrating Dewali at her gated community home. An undisclosed number of men held them down before Reddy was shot in the shoulder.
It is suspected that the men were in the house the entire time the three DJs were enjoying the celebrations. Police suspect attempted murder as nothing aside from Naidoo’s cellphone was stolen.
Reddy is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Close friend of the three, Jarred Doyle of JDC Communications, has asked anyone with information on the incident to please contact the SAPS.
