Friendship ends after drug bust
A drug-dealing friendship ended on Friday the 13th after an arrest in Hatfield.
Friday the 13th saw the end of a friendship after a drug dealer ratted his partner out to the police when he was arrested for possession of nyaope in Hatfield on Friday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Captain Colette Weilbach said police searched suspicious people on Festival Street after following up on information.
“The police started to search and discovered five small bags with nyaope hidden under stones. A 44-year-old man that was confronted by the police admitted that it was his drugs.”
Weilbach said the dealer did not want to go down alone and informed the police that his friend was also selling drugs.
“The affronted ‘friend’ was very upset when the hiding place for his drugs was pointed out to the police.”
She said another 17 bags of nyaope were discovered. Upon searching him, police found ‘muti’ in his possession.
“He told the police that the ‘muti’ medicine was supposed to make him invisible to the police.”
The two are to appear at the Hatfield Community Court on Monday.
