Police are looking for a group of men who stole R150 000 during a bottle store burglary in Atteridgeville in the early hours of Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the men bombed the safe before fleeing with thousands of rands.

“The complainant alleged he received a call from the security guards alerting him that they saw people inside the Mabunda bottle store in Phumolong. Upon his arrival, he found the safe had been blasted open and money was stolen,” she said.

Selepe said the amount of money stolen was R150 000.

“We don’t know how many suspects were involved, but it is believed they all fled in a vehicle that was parked next to the bottle store,” she said.

Selepe said no arrests had been made and a business burglary case was being investigated.
