Three men were caught with stolen bank cards in their possession in Garsfontein on Wednesday.

Garsfontein police spokesperson Warrant Dave Miller said a police patrol car spotted a suspicious white Golf GTI with no number plates in Garsfontein Road around 15:15.

“The three men kept looking back at the police and where fiddling with the inside of the roof of the vehicle,” said Miller.

He said the Golf suddenly accelerated and sped away.

The police gave chase and pulled the vehicle over.

Police searched the car and found stolen bank cards hidden inside the roof .

Miller said one of the bank cards had been reported stolen and the Wesbank fraud division was looking into the possible repossession of the men’s vehicle.

Two of the men had robbery charges in the Linden area pending against them.

“The three men were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court within 48 hours,” said Miller.
