One-month-old baby abducted while mother sleeps
A baby was snatched while the mother was sleeping in Hammanskraal
A one-month-old baby boy was reportedly abducted in Mandela Village, Hammanskraal, police said.
Spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the 20-year-old mother was sleeping with her baby boy on Wednesday night but woke up to find her child gone.
“She was woken by her 74-year-old mother who asked about the child. That was when she realised the child was missing,” Moremi said.
The baby’s mother suspected the child had been taken by her boyfriend, he said.
“She alleged that her boyfriend could have gained entry through a door or window but she heard nothing.”
A case of abduction was under investigation.
