Police are still looking for five men who robbed a business in Soshanguve of over 200 cellphones.
Store assistant manager Tshegofatso Sehule told Rekord on Tuesday that four armed men entered the store on Wednesday afternoon and stole items worth an undisclosed amount of money.
“The men came to the store and demanded us to open the till; we were hesitant until one of them revealed his firearm which he had on his waist.”
“Three men asked for the safe keys while the other one ransacked the shop. As soon as they got the keys, they locked us all in the storeroom and took 275 cellphones, a couple of t-shirts and decoders,” she said.
Sehule said R4 500 was stolen from the till. The estimated amount of the stolen items is yet to be determined.
“The four fled the scene with an unknown vehicle. We believe the fifth person was waiting in the car the whole time,” she said.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said they were investigating the matter and no arrests had been made.
