Hijackers arrested in Danville

Five suspected hijackers arrested in possession of a stolen vehicle in the west of Pretoria.

Alleged hijackers ran out of luck along WF Nkomo Street on Saturday, after police caught up with and arrested them.

According to Lida Badenhorst, secretary of Area Patrol Unit, they were on patrol in the west of Pretoria when police and a tracking company Tracker pulled a vehicle over.

“We stopped to assist the police and they gave us permission to immediately close necessary roads,” Badenhorst said.

She said that the five men had hijacked a white BMW 320 in Germiston. The vehicle was traced to Pretoria.

“The five occupants were arrested without incident,” Badenhorst said.

The vehicle was apparently driving west towards Atteridgeville.

Police were unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
